I like Max Webster as much as the next hoser, but the band's repeat appearances on their former frontman Kim Mitchell's Q107 radio show is making me feel a little stabby.

He even intro'd them this afternoon with a little rock trivia about the drummer (Gary McCracken) having sung A Million Vacations ... as if he was intro'ing any other band, *and not his band, the one he was ensuring royalty payments for by playing them on his own radio show*.

Not classy, and actually a conflict of interest. Bah humbug.

I'm watching Don't Forget The Lyrics, celebrity version. Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon is the celebrity guest.

My god, he sounds like he has a hernia. His voice is strained and hiccupy, like an angry scared geezer. He puts a little forced yelp at the end of most of the lines. He keeps getting the lyrics right but is singing melodies that bear absolutely no resemblance to the original songs. And he sounds nothing, nothing like the nasally yet appealing guy who sang "heard it from a friend whoooo, heard it from a friend whooo...". 

REO Speedwagon guy, my gentle friend, what happened? Did you blow your voice out singing "Take It On The Run" one too many nights in mouldy arenas? Shit. Your soft-rock is now ruined for me. Ruined.

A perfect hell within the bubble that is rush hour

Old Italian woman, screaming at the top of her lungs to bus driver, after he announces bus will be short-turning at Lawrence:

"I KNOW IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, OK? BUT THE TTC IS A PIECE OF SHIT. A PIECE OF SHIT! I HAVE TO GET HOME TO WATCH MY SHOW AT 6:00, OK? I KNOW IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, BUT THE TTC IS A PIECE.    OF.     SHIT!"

...repeated for about 15 minutes and/or until I got off the bus.
